Annual General Meeting

The Annual General Meeting is held every February, drawing an encouraging turnout of at least 60 members each year. The AGM serves as a valuable platform to reflect on the Society’s progress, present financial updates, and engage members in meaningful discussions on future initiatives and goals. This year’s AGM was especially significant, marking a transition in leadership with the formation of a new Management Committee, ushering in fresh perspectives and renewed commitment to the Society’s mission.

Annual Iftar Gathering

This year’s Annual Iftar was held at Masjid Al-Amin, continuing a cherished tradition of uniting our community during the blessed month of Ramadhan. The evening fostered meaningful connection and fellowship among other community leaders, members and their families, and our Bangladeshi brothers living and working in Singapore. With nearly 150 to 180 participants, the event was a resounding success, truly a heartfelt celebration of unity, faith, and togetherness. The Iftar meal was generously sponsored by members who stepped forward, embodying the spirit of compassion, generosity, and the strong sense of community that defines our Society.

It was a memorable day that perfectly captures STMWS’s spirit of building strong community bonds through fun and engaging activities. Missed out? Rabiul Awwal Maulid

This spiritual gathering is a cherished tradition dedicated to remembering and celebrating the birth of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). The annual Maulid will be held at the Society’s premises on the first 12 nights of Rabi' al-Awwal, the third month of the Islamic calendar. Close to 50 members come together each evening to immerse themselves in the joyful and heartfelt recitation of the Prophet’s Maulid. Throughout the nights, the remembrance of Allah and his beloved prophet is central, filling the gathering with peace and spiritual reflection. Members generously contribute food and drinks as an expression of their love for Allah (SWT) and the community. This year, the 12th night will be a collaborative effort with other organisations and will take place at a mosque. Stay tuned for further details.

Qiyamul Lail

As part of our spiritual efforts, Qiyamul Lail (Night Prayer) during one of the last ten nights of Ramadan is organised. These nights are of great significance, as they may coincide with Laylatul Qadr (Night of decree); a night "better than a thousand months" (Surah Al-Qadr 97:3). This programme serves as an opportunity for the community to gather in devotion and remembrance of Allah (SWT). Extended congregational prayers, Qur’an recitation, an inspirational Tamil bayan and dzikir majlis are delivered and led by renowned Ustad. Generous members and well-wishers come forward to sponsor food and drinks for all attendees, which reflects the spirit of unity and compassion that defines our community. May Allah (SWT) accept all contributions and reward everyone immensely. Ameen. Let us come together in worship, reflection, and prayer as we seek the bountiful blessings, mercy, and forgiveness of Allah (SWT) during the final nights of Ramadan.

Senior Folk Visit

This year’s Senior Folk visits were particularly meaningful, as the enthusiastic participation of the newly appointed younger committee members brought much joy to our seniors—especially those who have served on the Management Committee in the past. By coming together in this way, we honor our elders and reaffirm our commitment to giving back to the community that has shaped us. Goodie bags and cash vouchers were distributed as small tokens of appreciation, embodying the Society’s ongoing dedication to compassion, community, and fostering strong intergenerational bonds.
